The Artwork

Blü is a neon UV series created using a mixture of UV reactive water and a Fine Art makeup to explore the realm of Fine Modern Art.

The Artist

Why do you create? I was in a traumatic car accident in 2014 and I have always ventured towards Art. When I first started to create art, It was meant for me to express my voice louder than I could project my voice. The more I practiced, I wanted to create art that was bright, vibrant, strong colors that would erect strong photography and art pieces. I have been known for my dark surrealism and since the car accident, it's been my voice.
How do you work? That's a tough question, I would have to say each piece is different. But, I tend to bounce concepts off my significant other and she tends to be one of my biggest critiques. However, you need that when you're creating art. I tend to take pictures, or start creating art and the end piece that I publish is never what I think I'm going to start with. It's the adventure which erects the process and I love that.
Has your creative process changed over time, if so, how? I don't think my creative process has really changed. However, I have been working on being more of a perfectionist. I like powerful art, I don't think that will ever change.
Do you consider yourself a full-time or part-time artist? Full time, absolutely. After my car accident, I was unable to work part time or full time at traditional career paths. Due to my spinal damage, art has been something I can work on while I sit or lay down.
Besides creating, where else do you spend your time I tend to hangout with my family, play video games. I love watching futbol however, I tend to be a introvert.
What inspires you? Esao Andrews, Jeff Soto, and Luke Chueh. All three are American based oil / acrylic painters.
What is the first piece of art you remember creating? Good question, I'd have to say a piece I created called "Heaven and Earth" which I created using a mixture of Copic Markers and Sharpies.
What does the term art mean to you? To be honest, I'm not sure. Art has been anything that has talked to me when I saw it. Something whether it's been sound or something literally right in front of you that gives you shivers up your spine. It speaks to you.
Name three artists that you respect? Esao Andrews, Luke Chueh, Jeff Soto
What is your favourite piece of artwork? "On Letting Go" by Esao Andrews. It was the cover art for Circa Survive album cover.
What is your dream project? I would say by dream project would be doing an album cover for one of my favorite artists or doing a solo exhibit based on mental illness or car accidents.
