The Artwork

In this one, a woman looks sadly down at the confusion of her life, which is also on display all around her.

The Artist

Why do you create? My main purpose with creating art is as a release for emotions that are bottled up within me. Of all the forms of therapy, this is most effective for me. I tend to like my work more when I am inspired by depression or mania as well.
How do you work? Usually, I start out with a model stock. Really, my process is sort of slapdash and very trial and error. I keep adding textures until it looks complete or my brain tells me to stop.
Has your creative process changed over time, if so, how?I used to try to make more 'traditional' manipulations, with a girl in a graveyard and everything hard cut. Now my style is much more impressiontistic.
Do you consider yourself a full-time or part-time artist?full-time
Besides creating, where else do you spend your time? When I'm not creating, I work at Goodwill in the backroom, sorting books.
What inspires you? Usually my emotions, along with inspiring artists I follow on various art sites.
What is the first piece of art you remember creating? A drawing when I was around five; I only remember because it was used for a t-shirt and coffee mug, despite being pretty bad!
What does the term art mean to you? Art means emotion to me, largely.
Name three artist that you respect? Alice X. Zhang, Van Gogh, Klimt.
What is your favourite piece of artwork? It's called "the ballad of mona lisa".
What is your dream project? My dream is to create music album covers and receive consistent work.
