The Artist

Why do you create? I come from a family of artists and creativity has become an integral and important part of my life
How do you work? I like to focus on one area of my work at a time. The background is so important and I spend a lot of time getting this right before I move on to the subject. Once I set up I like to just keep going until I have achieved something meaningful. It's a long process!
Has your creative process changed over time, if so, how? I have become more relaxed and less concerned about 'getting it right' - mistakes often turn out to be the best parts of my work!
Do you consider yourself a full-time or part-time artist? Definitely part-time - there are so many aspects of my life to fit in
Besides creating, where else do you spend your time? I like to travel - which is where I get much of my inspiration - and I love my home and garden.
What inspires you? Women and children from around the world. And nature.
What is the first piece of art you remember creating? I used to sketch while my mother painted - mostly faces
What does the term art mean to you? I love the saying ...EARTH without ART is just EH
Name three artists that you respect? Vinent Van Gogh, Arthur Boyd, Margaret Olley
What is your favourite piece of artwork? Russell Drysdale, Sunday evening
