The Artwork

Lonely fox wandering through snow covered birch forest. Long shadows leading the way into mysterious deep woods.

The Artist

Why do you create? For me, it is a natural way of expression. It is a work I feel most comfortable with.
How do you work? I start with pencil sketch and move on digital once i have the rough idea of what I want to do.
Has your creative process changed over time, if so, how? Yes. With things I learned over time I included them in a process. For example now I make much more sketches and small thumbnails before I move on to finishing work.
Do you consider yourself a full-time or part-time artist? Yes, right now I am a full time artist.
Besides creating, where else do you spend your time? I find much fun by exploring nature and reading books, everything from literary classics to illustrated adventures for children to young adults.
What inspires you? Everything that happens around me of course. Nature, other artist (music, books...)
What is the first piece of art you remember creating? Hm...probably drawing test before school :)) But I did draw before that..
What does the term art mean to you? It has a lot of meanings, It is a form of expression, a language. And as with any language you can do many things with it.
Name three artists that you respect? Hard question, no artist has learned anything by himself so it would be unfair to give credits to just three names. But I love work of Magritte, Norman Rockwell, and old Disney artists. Old Russian painters from late 1800. Caravaggio is one of my favs.. :))
What is your favourite piece of artwork? Probably one of Magritte's work...can't decide which one. He was that sweet spot between realism, imaginism, stylized, funny, illustrative...
What is your dream project? I can't tell you :)
