The Artwork

This figurative work prompts self inquiry towards ones identity initiated by a mass of unidentified people in a huddled crowd. The viewer is asked the question 'who are you?' without significant additional visual influence so the reaction is intended to be authentic and immediate.

The Artist

Why do you create? It's part of who I am
How do you work? Sometimes spontaneously sometimes planned, it's a pleasure either way
Has your creative process changed over time, if so, how? I learnt allot through my study between 2011-2016. The more I practice and play around the more can develop my own processes. Through studying I began to develop the creative process in greater layers of complexity and depth.
Do you consider yourself a full-time or part-time artist? Part-time as I work full time in another career
Besides creating, where else do you spend your time? working full time, sleeping. eating, driving...
What inspires you? Many artists over history and living today
What is the first piece of art you remember creating? In primary school; I drew a title scene from the original Back to the Future movie when it came out, my teacher was impressed and asked where had I copied it from.
Also my first oil painting was about 12 years old which was a small landscape, i borrowed a spare canvas from my mum when she was taking classes.
What does the term art mean to you? creating something new that took unique expressive input from an individual
Name three artists that you respect? Claude Monet, Banksy, Gustav Klimpt.
What is your favourite piece of artwork? Impression, soleil levant (Impression, sunrise) by Claude Monet.
What is your dream project? Time to develop my own unique expression style of art
