Margo's Story

Has your creative process changed over time, if so, how?
I've always painted with acrylics, I like the way they feel, but I've recently discovered I really ink. I paint objects & scenes that you could easily recognize but I try to make them more than what I see, so I abstract them a little bit, & I do enjoying painting both realistic and abstract works. I like to paint things that catch my eye & subjects which have great colours.

Do you consider yourself a full-time or part-time artist?
Part time

Besides creating, where else do you spend your time?
Family, working fulltime, Hunter Arts Network committee, renovating

What inspires you?
I like paint, I like to push it around with a brush, and I like the colours. It's very satisfying when I finish a work which I really feel good about. What I like about my creative life is that it makes me think & produces ideas, and one idea builds on another idea.

What is the first piece of art you remember creating?
I always liked art. When I was growing up, that was my favourite subject in school, and my parents always encouraged me. I always made things when I was growing up and worked with my hands. It was always something that I wanted to do, first as a hobby, then it became more than that & I established my business in 2009.
