The Artwork

Snappy Gum trees are synonymous with Australia's Pilbara where they cling to life in a harsh, arid environment often ravaged by fire. Blackened branches attest to past fire damage providing contrast with the pale coloured trunks. This image was captured near Hamersley Gorge, Karijini NP with rays of the setting sun lighting the trunk and branches of the tree.
